Caz Hoar
Dramatherapist- HCPC Registered,
Environmental Arts Therapist,

Creative Supervisor- in training
I have over 20 years’ experience of working as a Creative Arts therapist with children, young people and adults, in both 1 to 1 and group settings . I am currently undertaking my training as a Creative Supervisor.
My intention is always to hold a supportive and empowering space where people can deepen their inner resources and explore what is present for them.
Creative arts therapies invite opportunity to communicate and explore experiences that are not always easily expressed through words alone. Through creative techniques that may include storytelling, role play, movement, music and art making, there space for both verbal and non-verbal expression.
For some of us, words may not feel enough, or may not be available. A movement, sound, image, story or piece of play can provide another way of expressing thoughts, feelings and experiences. There is no 'right way' or need to be creative. Curiosity and exploration can unfold at an individual's own pace.
My experience includes supporting people affected by trauma and abuse, bereavement and loss, attachment difficulties, establishing safety, trust, connection, empowerment and honouring important life transitions. I have worked in schools and SEND settings, fostering services, community settings and with adults with physical and learning disabilities and adults who self refer. I have worked as a Dramatherapist within an arts therapy team working alongside multi-agency teams supporting children, young people, families and professionals.
I completed a movement-based facilitation training, 'Listening to the Land, Landing in the Body' with Anna Murray Preece, which has deepened my exploration of the relationship between body, landscape and therapeutic practice. This supports an awareness of embodied resources, deeper listening and individual needs, which I love to share.
I am based near Dartmoor, and the natural landscape is an important resource for me and a big influence on my practice.
I co-facilitate monthly therapeutic workshops in woodland settings on the edge of the moors, offering opportunities to slow down, rest and create. Spending time in nature can support self-regulation and a deeper connection with ourselves, while nurturing a sense of reciprocity and curiosity about how our own journeys are shaped through our relationship with the natural world.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I offer CPD training for professionals and organisations, drawing on my experience of creative arts therapies and therapeutic practice. I aim to make training practical, engaging and relevant to the needs of each individual & organisation.
I am currently training as a Creative Supervisor and am offering supervision at a reduced rate during this training period. I provide a creative, reflective and supportive space where practitioners can explore their work, develop their creative practice and reflect on their professional relationships and experiences.
Alongside my practice I enjoying going on adventures in nature, dancing & singing.
